Huswifery
The Huswifery poem was very complex. It would take a while for anyone just to get the whole main thought of this poem. It had many words that are not used in modern language.Edward Taylor used great diction and amazing vocabulary in the poem. The poem gave me the reaction that I would like to become a better person also. Huswifery was a very short poem, but one of the most complex and detailed poems I have read so far. Edward went into great detail about how he wants to become a better person. He is pleading to the Lord about making him a better person. He wants to be a real and not superficial like everyone else. Edward stated,” My Conversation make to be thy Reele”. He has a great hope and trust in God that he wants to become a better man not just for himself but for society. Edward wants to have a better understanding and a better judgment of everything. Edward Taylor made the Huswifery poem to express how he felt and his views on things. He wants to become better as a man and wants love and affection. He plead to God that he will be protected and loved. Edward is probably a little scared of life but who isn’t? he has great hope for the future in this poem because he is trying to make himself a better person.
